Influenster Jolly Voxbox Review

I was lucky enough to qualify for Influenster’s holiday voxbox, which I received before Christmas.

The voxbox contained:
1 Rimmel London Show Off lip lacquer in Celestial
1 NYC HD Color Trio eye shadow in Long Beach Sands
1 Duck Tape brand Ducklings Mini Tape Roll
1 Puffs Plus Lotion To-go pack
1 box of Skinny Cow Divine Chocolates in Peanut Butter Creme

We’ll start with the cosmetics first!

Rimmel lip lacquer – my rating: ★★★☆☆ 3/5
I’m a huge fan of Rimmel, so I was super pumped that Influenster included a Rimmel product in this voxbox. The color was nice and great for everyday wear, but the formula left a lot to be desired. Although I’m not an avid lipgloss user, it seemed unusually sticky, which caused flaking and unpleasant gathering on my lips not long after application. My lips were on the dry side that day so that might have contributed to that outcome. The range of colors in this lipgloss line is really nice, however!

NYC HD Color Trio e/s – my rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
I’m also a huge, HUGE fan of the NYC makeup brand. Their products are always of exceptional quality for the price range. The eye shadow trio I got fits the name ‘Long Beach Sands’. It’s a neutral palette that is wonderful for everyday and office looks. It’s a drugstore brand so of course the colors are not the most pigmented in the world, but they are definitely are more pigmented than other drugstore brands. They’re fairly smooth and I don’t have fallout issues so I’m very pleased to have this added to my cosmetic arsenal!

Puffs Plus Lotion To-Go pack – my rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
I’ve recently taken to bringing along cheapy travel sized tissue packs, and while they do their job, it was nice to get a pack from a quality company! They are much softer than generic brands, though if I’m being honest, in my past experience there’s not much lotion in these. Even with these tissues you will still get a raw nose if you’re sick and blowing your nose every 5 seconds. But this is a travel pack and my intended use is for the runny noses I get when I’m out in the cold so I don’t need it super lotion-y.

Duck Tape Ducklings Mini roll – my rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
This line of duct tape from The Duck Tape brand is so cute and whimsical! These rolls are kind of a novelty item for a crafter like myself, so while I haven’t really been into the duct tape craft craze, I did enjoy making a bow bracelet with the tape I received, and would like to buy a few other prints for scrapbooking and gift wrapping purposes!

Skinny Cow Divine Chocolates –  my rating: ★★★★☆ 4/5
I really, really, REALLY enjoyed these!!! As did the rest of my family. For someone that has a huge sweet tooth (like myself) that also likes to watch their weight, these are perfect. A single serving, 3 chocolates (one pouch), is 130 calories, which is great, but I was able to get my dose of chocolate with only 2, which is even more great. I received the peanut butter flavor, the one I was hoping for. They are so rich and creamy and just SO GOOD! The only reason I didn’t rate them 5/5 is because they cost almost $5 for a box of 21 chocolates (which will not last long, believe me), so they’re a little on the pricey side for my budget.

All in all I’m really happy with this voxbox as everything was incredibly useful or something I had previously been curious about trying.

Introduction + first OOTD

Hello! I started this blog just as a personal outlet, a diary of sorts, for my cosmetic/beauty related interests and happenings. I’ve always enjoyed reading about makeup and fashion, and just recently discovered I enjoy writing about it, too. My goal for this blog is to provide useful information like reviews and tips and…well, pretty pictures! Since I don’t want this blog to be specifically about me and my ramblings, I’ll leave the rest of the introduction for the About Me page. Now on to the outfit!

top/pants – Beall’s Outlet
necklace/bracelet – thrift stores
ring – unknown
wedges – Payless

I’m a huge fan of the bright jeans trend. I think it might have started going out of style, but I don’t care too much. Just a heads up for any readers: this blog is about my personal tastes and opinions, and won’t be very trendy outside of the trends I personally like. I’m not a big follower of what’s “in” and what’s “out”. I wear what I enjoy and enjoy what I wear, period!

Anyways, I have a nail polish haul and couple of reviews in the works, so stay tuned, and I sincerely thank anyone who decides to read this blog!

Until next time~
